Cape Vintage Port 2008
Worcester in the Stettyn valley, 33km south of Worcester on the R43 road.
Selection of grapes from Die Hoek and Stettyn Vineyards properties, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Borocca & Souzao.
Harvested at full ripeness, 26º balling and cold soaked for 2 days to extract maximum colour & structure.
Fermented for 6 days at relative low temperatures to enhance fruit characteristics. Fortification with 5 year old brandy spirits was implemented with 100g of sugar and 18% vol alcohol as parameters.
Touriga Nacional cultivar, a classic style, matured in French oak. Brimming with ripe fruit, dark chocolate and spices, this fortified wine brings a rich round full bodied palate with a long smooth finish.
